Dave Chappelle’s Block Party, also known as Block Party, is a 2005 American documentary film hosted and written by comedian Dave Chappelle. Chappelle loaded up a bus with residents of his Ohio hometown and took them to Brooklyn, N.Y. Once there, the travelers enjoyed a concert featuring Kanye West, the Fugees, Big Daddy Kane and others. Rehearsal footage and Chappelle’s brand of comedy enliven the proceedings.

Chappelle’s comedy provides the balance this film needs to serve as an entertaining reflection of the segregation and urban neglect the exists in America today. This message exists as the subtext, and sometimes bluntly, in the humour, interviews, and the music.

I am a hip hop, rap, and R&B music geek. So, I LOVED seeing the different artist perform. The concert was an absolute vibe. Love love love.
